IDOL CONTEST

Audition demo and the entry form due at midnight July 21st. 

You will be notified by phone or email if you are selected as a finalist. Ten (10) from each

category will be selected to advance to the “live on stage” performances at the {Pike County Fair.

Audition:

  • Provide a Facebook, TikTok, or Instagram Demo – Singing demo (song of choice) to pikefair@gmail.com

  • Entries are limited to the first 50 entries received in each age division.

  • All Finalists must be available Thursday, July 31st at 5:00 pm at the Grandstands.

  • A $10.00/solo, $20.00/duet Entry Fee must accompany this entry form. Payments of cash or check will be accepted. Entry fee is non-refundable.

  • Forms and fee can be dropped off at the Fair Board office between 9 am – 4pm in the drop box marked Fair Board.

Contest Rules:

  • Participants must submit an entry form and entry fee of $10.00/solo, $20.00/duet.

  • Entries are due July 21st, 2025.

  • Check or cash are accepted.

  • Entries are limited to the first 50 entries received in each division.

 

Eligibility:

  • Participants are defined as single or solo (1) or duet (2) people.

  • All participants must be amateur entertainers.

 

Divisions:

  • Division I: Ages 5-12 years of age (age as of July 2, 2025)

  • Division II: Ages 13-18 years of age (age as of July 2, 2025)

  • Division III: Ages 18 and over (ages as of July 2, 2025)

 

This contest will have two sections:

Auditions and Finals.

Auditions:

  • After receiving the signed entry form and fee, as well as social media tagged video, the participants making it to the finals will be notified by phone/email.

  • After all demo submissions, a maximum of ten (10) participants from each division will advance to the finals.

 

Finals:

  • Finals will take place on Thursday, July 31st, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at the Pike County Fair Grandstand Stage.

  • After finals, one participant from each division will be selected as the winner.

 

Dressing Rooms:

  • Dressing rooms are not available, please plan to use public restrooms.

 

Performance, clothing, and outfit:

  • The Pike County 4-H Fair is a family event, no inappropriate attire, profanity on clothing, or inappropriate songs will be allowed.

  • Judges will have the right to disqualify any participants not following the rules.

 

Judges:

  • The Judge’s decision is final, and scores will not be released to participants or the public.

 

Judging Criteria:

  • Overall quality of performance – 50%

  • Vocal ability – 30%

  • Stage presence – 20%

 

A panel of judges will judge auditions and finals. The panel of judges will be determined by the Pike County Fair and will not be released to participants or the public.

Music:

  • The participants must use the same music selection for the auditions and finals.

 

Time Limit:

  • Time limit is five minutes (this includes any spoken intros by the participants).

  • Points will be deducted for acts going over the time limit.

Sound System:

  • A sound system will be provided, and all participants will be required to use the sound system, microphones, and compact disc karaoke player.

Awards:

  • Division I Winner - $500.00

  • Division II Winner - $750.00

  • Division III - $1,500.00

 

General Rules:

  • All participants are responsible for gate admission.

 

By entering this Contest:

  1. All participants and their families release the Pike County 4-H Fair, and its agents from any liability resulting from their performance or attendance at this event.

  2. All Participants give the Pike County 4-H Fair and its media contractors, the unrestricted authorization to use your name, photo, voice recording, video recording, entry materials or likeness in promotional materials without further compensation.
